Minding My Peas

Last summer we installed a small raised bed to grow vegetables in.  It's been fun planting different seeds and plants.  As with most things, there were success stories and not so successful stories.  Early this spring I planted some peas from seed.  This was a first for me.

Recenty I had the pleasure of harvesting my crop.  I'm calling this a Success Story with a capital S.

  2. Good morning, Kim! Your pea crop looks beautiful. I remember a long time ago growing peas and it took A Lot of pods to shell a bowl of peas. Enjoy your day! Twyla

  3. Your blog update is simply gorgeous! What a way to be greeted when paying a visit.

Your accomplishment with the growing of peas is commendable. I never did that. I remember the growing space you created last year. Great job! There is nothing better than peas from the garden. My cousin has grown them for years, and I love the meals where she serves them.

  6. It must be very satisfying and I bet that those peas tasted better than any others. I want to plant peas, too, but I'm getting behind. Perhaps I'll just buy the plant already started.

  9. Well, I don't blame you. I'd be proud of myself too. Now I'm glad I didn't plant many veggies, due to the onslaught of rats at my house. When will the construction ever stop toppling wild creatures habitats? I smile every time I see that banner of yours!

  12. Oh! what a wonderful feeling Kim even after planting and harvesting for so many years I still am awed by what comes forth from just one seed.
Thank you for sharing and please enjoy.

  13. Sucess...and so early in the season! I was still debating whether or not to plant peas...and you are already harvesting. Your fresh peas bring back memories of yesteryear...sitting as a family and shelling the freshly picked peas.
