Not only do we love it, but we like to shake it up a bit each day.
One morning it might be cereal with mixed berries, the next day it might be oatmeal with bananas, pecans, milk and a bit of brown sugar. Once in a while it's eggs and toast or maybe a yogurt parfait.
Sometimes as I lay in bed at night waiting to fall asleep, I'm thinking about what I'll be eating the next morning.
Now I know there are people who can't stand the thoughts of eating in the morning.
Now I know there are people who can't stand the thoughts of eating in the morning.
What about you, are you a breakfast person?
When two breakfast lovers like us are faced with a leisurely weekend morning, it's a pretty good chance pancakes will be on the menu. At some point in our marriage, Brett became the chief pancake and waffle maker. He makes them from scratch too. No box mixes for him.
This weekend he tried a new recipe that contained two of my very favorite fall flavors.
Cranberry Orange Pancakes.
Oh my goodness were they ever good!
If you like that flavor combination and you're a fan of breakfast, you may want need to try them.
A perfect breakfast for a cool fall morning.
We paired ours with turkey bacon.
A little hint of the upcoming American holiday ;-).
Speaking of the upcoming holiday, how are your Thanksgiving plans shaping up?
Hmmmm...love the griddle, too! I used to be a no breakfast gal years and years ago. Now I want my breakfast!
ReplyDeleteOh those pancakes look and sound delicious.
ReplyDeleteI like breakfast but not the first thing in the morning. I have to have my morning walk first.
Pancakes, waffles and French toast are my favorites. I do use Bisquick though.
I know I'd like them even more if someone made them for me!! : )
I have one of those griddle too and love it.
Now those look fabulous! I love the cranberry-orange combination in scones and muffins. Why not pancakes? I think I'll give them a try!
ReplyDeleteKim, I love breakfast so much that I can have it for lunch and dinner, too (and have done that!). I also love cranberry orange anything, so these pancakes would make me get up extra early! Happy Thanksgiving to you and Brett. xo
ReplyDeleteThose pancakes look so good. I'm not an "eat-as-soon-as-I-get-up" kind of person, but after an hour or so I need some breakfast. Weekends are the best because I can indulge my time schedule more.
ReplyDeleteOh Kim...such a yummy breakfast! We love a good breakfast to start our day. We enjoy our breakfast about an hour after we get up. We like to start our day with our cup of coffee and reading our devotionals and our Bible. Then hubby curls up in his recliner and reads the newspaper. I tend to making our bed and then it is time to put our breakfast together. We enjoy lingering at the breakfast table and planning our day. It is such a peaceful and quiet time for us. Such a delicious fall breakfast idea! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Hugs ♥ Teri
ReplyDeleteI get up early almost every morning and walk in a local park for a few miles, so when I get back home I'm really hungry and like a full breakfast. My husband is also the official pancake maker at our house. I should get him a nice big griddle like you have. The cranberry orange pancakes look so good!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
We both love the breakfast hour and we too look forward to eating our breakfast together, especially on weekends. Your orange/cranberry pancakes sure do look good. How nice that you live with your own personal chef. Do you both drink coffee too?
ReplyDeleteI usually fix a big breakfast on the weekends. During the week, I don't eat much for breakfast. Hubby gets up very early and is out the door and doesn't take time to eat. We had pancakes over the weekend. This recipe looks yummy, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Yummy! Pancakes, flap jacks, waffles, crepes. Delicious! So far, I'm just thinking of the Thanksgiving preparation, but after school today my mind will rest on feast foods and I'll go to the grocery store. It's such a happy festive place this time of year!
ReplyDeleteI wish you a wonderful celebration, sweet Kim!
Yum! Breakfast is my favorite meal and these pancakes look like a winner! Oh my goodness, I must try them. Thanks, Kim, for the recipe.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Hugs,
Donna

These cranberry orange pancakes sound really yummy. I'd love to try your recipe some morning. Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteThese pancakes look amazing! I am a pancake girl myself. Sometimes I put blueberries in the batter.
