A Boring Post to Clear the Air

Brrrr . . . it's cold outside.

There's no snow, but it sure feels wintery outside. Seems like the perfect weather for some of this. I haven't tried it yet, but tomorrow I plan to stop at the grocery store for some Nutella.

Now, onto another subject. This one is a little touchy for me and I hope it will be taken the way it is intended, but after a lot of thought I have decided to make my blog "tag", "award" and "meme" free. Recently I saw this and liked the idea. Now please don't think for a minute that I haven't appreciated the awards that have been given to me. I am flattered. It's just that I do find it very time consuming to do them correctly. I also find it hard to pick and choose certain blogs to forward them to. I have considered just not responding to them, but that doesn't seem nice after fellow bloggers were kind enough to forward them to me. So, this is my way of clearing the air on the subject.

Just hoping you'll understand . . .

  1. I think that is a great idea! I think the awards and tags can be fun...but you are correct, they take time and I always feel funny "pressuring" someone else to do it when they may already have something planned for their blog. Maybe, I will do that also soon...maybe...when I get "brave" enough!!! Have a great weekend!

  2. I totally agree with you. They are fun but I don't want to pick and choose from my bloggy friends.

  3. I totally understand where you're coming from. I just told Charlotte that I was behind from doing a tag she gave me. I would rather spend time blogging normal posts.
I do appreciate the awards and they are not as time consuming as the others.

  4. I don't even know what a "meme" is. And would never know what to "do" with an award. I'm still a novice at this - sort of.

  5. I understand perfectly. I don't put awards on my blog either. I usually just thank the person who left me one and leave it at that. I like the kind of memes where people don't tag anyone and just invite you to do it if you want.

  7. That sounds like a good idea to me, too. I can barely keep up with doing some posts and then I like to spend time reading those on my list...and then I like to read a book...and craft...and talk to my hubby...and on and on it goes! heehee! The awards are an honor but I may want to adapt this idea, too. You are smarter than I am! lol

  9. Now that's a novel idea...and I like it! I always am most appreciative of an award...but decided early on that my blogging was not about awards, so for the most part they are not displayed or passed on. Tags are fun...I play along on occasion and make them free for anyone else who wants to play.

Thanks for the kind comments you left me!
