On a recent visit to the thrift shop, I noticed these cute little boots. Not only were they cute, but the blue and yellow was calling my name. Since there are no little feet around my house any more, I knew I would have to think of a less practical use for them. Luckily, I had an idea in mind.
In the spirit of Earth Day, this proved to be a fun recycling project. After drilling a few small holes into the bottom, I put in a small layer of pebbles followed by some potting soil and then the flowers.
Thrift shops and garage sales are great sources for finding whimsical pieces to add to your garden.
It can be relaxing to think outside the box, play and have fun in your garden.

So cute!! I emailed my daughter-in-law immediately, so she wouldn't get rid of my granddaughter's outgrown boots. I just love it!!

Absolutely.positively.darling!!! Oh, I love them. Makes me want to stumble across something like that next time I'm thrifting. Thanks for sharing that charming idea! No doubt they'll bring a smile each time you see them outside.
ReplyDeleteKim your boot planters are just adorable. Wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteI have been looking for some rain boots to make planters too...they look sooo cute!
ReplyDeleteThose boots are adorable! A few years ago I was gifted with a little pair of pink boots that have watermelon seeds painted all over them, planted with pansies. Unfortunately they were left outside over the winter, and are now all cracked and need to be thrown out. Great idea to hit the thrift stores and look for another cute pair, although if they're in my size, I'd totally wear them!
ReplyDeleteThe boots are really cute! You're so creative to come up with this idea! I love the 'splash' of color! ♥
ReplyDeleteThere you go again with a cute idea. I would have been stopped by the fact that I have no small feet in the house anymore! I never see past the obvious:D That's why others have cuter things in their gardens than I. One of these days, I'm gonna do that!

ReplyDeleteWonderful repurposing! I'm going to follow Angela's example and ask my daughter-in-law for all outgrown boots. (And I'm not telling her why. Ha!)
ReplyDeleteNow that is just as cute as it can be! Talk about whimsy! I'm gonna have to look for some.

ReplyDeleteAren't you just the most clever lady! I do not think I would have ever thought to add flowers and place these cute boots in my garden. This is just so perfect! I like your ability to find fun things at Goodwill prices. I like your love of blue and yellow, I like your gardening skills and your creativity is amazing! Thanks so much for sharing this idea.
