The Dog Days of Summer

Have these hot summer days got you feeling a little droopy?  Are you lacking energy and moving around at a snail's pace?  If so, I'd like to invite you to join me for a dip.  I've got my new life jacket on and I'm all ready.  So, come on ~ let's go.

Ah, yes ... there's nothing quite as refreshing as a bit of dog paddling on a hot summer's day.  It's fun to do by yourself, but even more fun with a friend.

Recently I went swimming with one of my best friends.

He's a pretty good swimmer, but I can swim circles around him.  ;-)

If you come swimming with me, I promise not to do that.  But, we could have a race.  I'm pretty fast.

When we're done swimming my mom will make us some iced tea.

Or if you don't like that, she also knows how to make lemonade.

Personally, I think I'll just have a few slurps of water and then be ready for a little siesta.

Thanks for joining me today.  I had fun and hope you did too.  I also hope you're feeling cooler.  If you want to take a siesta now, go ahead.  It will be our little secret.

  1. How fun...I love posts like this. What a cute little dog, so why did he need a live vest? He looks like a great swimmer...but it was a cute life vest! :D

  6. How cute! We feel cooler...we're getting one of those pop up showers AGAIN this afternoon! We can use the rain though and it sure cools things down! I would rather be in the swimming pool though! ENJOY! ♥

  9. He's so cute in his little life vest..... with the little handle on top, he looks like a cute little piece of luggage.

Our Casey is afraid of water..

Cute post! I'll take some lemonade, thank you!

  10. Hi Kim,
Your blogs ALWAYS make me warm inside and smile!! That was adorable!!
I loved loved loved seeing your beautiful home and your view you have on a previous post. You have a talent of touching things into true beauty!!
AND I especially wanted to say how touched I was with your kind words concerning my Dad's death. It was very thoughtful and I truly appreciated it! I also appreciated your understanding of my mom's Alzheimers. It's very hard to explain or comprehend without living around it. A extremely sad disease to watch. My mom is currently with my sister in Texas and doing as well as can be expected. Daily is waiting on Dad to come home and that is so hard.
Thank you again for the words and if you have ANY advice.... I welcome it with open arms.
    Love,
    Tanya

  11. Is your dog a fiest? We have a dog that use to look just like that. She is now all white with only a tiny bit of the brown left on the tips of her ears.

  16. Swimming, iced cold lemonade, fresh daisies...perfect way, in my mind to celebrate summer. You have one lucky dog to have such a handsome swimming vest. What fun for man and his dog to pass time together on these hot summer days. Beautiful picture with the lemonade.
