A few weeks ago I happened to be at work and went out the back door to toss something into the dumpster. As I was headed back in I noticed something that caught my eye.
Aren't they lovely ;-)?
Piles of pallets that have probably been sitting there for years.
Normally I wouldn't have given them a second glance, but on this particular day the light bulb went on and the Fourth of July was coming up.
After a trip to Home Depot for red, white and blue paint, I set up a temporary painting table in a spare office and got to work.
I was happy to find a stencil at Hobby Lobby that had a long row of stars. So much easier than doing them one at a time. I couldn't quite fit in 50 of them, but as you can see I also couldn't fit in 13 stripes. To borrow a phrase from Vee in this post , I guess I just used a bit of "creative license".
We've had a super busy couple of days around here, but now things are slowing down and I hope to be by to see what you all have been up to.
Love it! (even though I'm Canadian :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job! Nice shot of the fireworks. People make all sorts of things out of those pallets. xo
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! That looks fantastic. Glad that you had a busy and I'm sure fun holiday. Now on to some quieter delights...
ReplyDeleteWhat a unique idea, Kim, when I saw it in your last post, it had not dawned on me what they were. Great job and thanks for sharing. I will do something like this the next time dh brings home a pallet.~smile~
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
Hugs,
Sue
Very creative! Isn't funny how we get so accustomed to seeing something that we don't see it anymore...and then all of a sudden...there it is!
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
WOW! You turned it into a work of art! I love it! And it's nice and big so that it can be seen! Enjoy the weekend! It seems like we just had one! lol
ReplyDeleteNow that looks like a fun and easy project.
ReplyDeleteKim, what a great idea - love it! I hung my flag out and that was about it for this year - still trying to adjust after the trip!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend dear.

ReplyDeleteI love how that works. You see something that has been around for a long time, and all of a sudden a light bulb goes on and you can turn it into beauty. What a great idea! It looks so good and fits the holiday perfectly. I like how your mind works and I like Vee's saying:)
