My Garden in November

Part of my weekend was spent in the garden.
With temperatures in the low 70s, it was a delightful time to be outside digging in the dirt.
Some of the leaves have fallen, but many are still putting on their colorful show.  I thought they looked particularly beautiful against our clear blue skies.
It was a nice surprise to find some hydrangeas blooming away in the back corner of the garden.
Also nice to see the pink geranium loaded with blooms.  Just before the frost hits I set it in the garage for the winter and basically ignore it until springtime.  I've had it going for several years.
The morning glories are thriving now, climbing all through the camellia bushes.  On this day they seemed to have their faces to the sun as if to say "We're going to enjoy it while it lasts."  Once they are done blooming, I'll collect seeds to store in a jar in the refrigerator to be planted early next spring.
We haven't had a killing frost here yet, but I know it can't be long until that day comes.  So, in the meantime, I'll be taking a cue from the morning glories and enjoy it while it lasts.

  1. Oh such sweetness you're enjoying yet! Your mosaic is a beautiful gathering with the yellows and blues. Even we are supposed to be enjoying milder temps today, though there are no flowers and leaves to enjoy.

  2. Your mosaic made me smile! You captured so much color and just the sorts of autumn warmth garden glory that I so love seeing. My garden went solid white this weekend; my area got 26 inches of snow! It is beautiful too, I enjoy the change right now. Good thing I like all the seasons God gives us!

  4. Your garden is still so lovely, Kim. We also had a day of 70 degree weather over the weekend, but it didn't last... it was down in the 20's yesterday. (Yes, we have wild swings of temperature here in the midwest.)

  6. Your garden flowers are still very beautiful! We even reached into the 70s here in MO a few days ago. It was a beautiful day! The warmer weather brought much needed rain to us and then very windy weather and now very chilly nights.

  13. Beautiful flowers you are enjoying Kim, when I see a hydrangea I think of you and of how beautiful yours are! The frost has caused our flowers to take a long winters nap, dh has even cut back most of them. I think I might have a rose or two lingering near the house. Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving.
    Blessings,
    Sue

  14. Such beautiful flowers still. How wonderful.
Here, all is quickly turning brown and grey - except the grass which is greenest in wintertime.
The change of seasons provides such variety to the year.
