If Every Picture Tells a Story . . .

Welcome to my home.
Please don't trip over the appliances in the foyer.
I'd love to be able to serve you a meal at the dining room table.
However, it is currently loaded with the contents of the kitchen cupboards.

I'd offer you a seat in the family room, but fear you could injure yourself trying to get to that seat.
Doesn't everybody store their kitchen drawers on the floor ; )?

It would be nice if I could at least offer you a glass of water or a cup of coffee or tea.  That is a bit impossible at the moment as the kitchen sink and faucet have left the building.  Oh my!

Perhaps the story this picture tells is the reason for my extended absence from the blog.
My blogging desk has also left the building.
This morning I was able to unearth the laptop to pop in for a little update.
The process of updating the house to get it ready for selling is well underway.
Each day brings a new area being tackled.
Things are beginning to take shape and I sometimes wonder whose house I'm in when I get up in the morning.
I'm hoping to be able to share a few before and afters in a future post.
In the meantime, I hope you are all doing well.
When things slow down a bit I plan to get back to regular blog visiting.

  1. I can only imagine how it is to live day-to-day in disorder but hopefully the kitchen will look lovely when all is said and done.

  2. Yikes! I thought your house was already so perfect!

  3. Kim, it’s going to be so perfect, you won’t want to go! Topsy-turvy is a tough way to live, but it will be worth it all. Do they say that you’ll see an increase on your investments?

    1. Vee, Yes, that is the plan otherwise we would not be going to this extreme. Fingers crossed.

  4. Oh how nice it will be when it's finished! You'll love it, I know! Have a good week! Hope you have plenty of take out menus on hand! Hugs!

  5. It's going to be wonderful Kim! You won't want to sell by the time you get through. :)

  6. Oh my lots going on at your house. I think the same as Jann, you won't want to move by the time you get done with the work.
Where will you be moving too?

    1. Happyone,
We are planning to move to an "active lifestyle 55+ community" not too far from here. We are just waiting for the lot we are interested in to become available.

  7. Renovations and updating can be very disruptive. I hope all the fuss is soon over. You'll probably be sad to leave it once it's all spiffed up.

  8. Wow! What are you doing to the kitchen - updating the cabinets?

  9. Melanie,
The cabinets are staying. The countertops are being replaced/updated.

  10. Ha Ha ..I’m smiling and saying WELCOME to my world..It seems renovations just take over your life .. but in the end are worth while..You will be so happy when it’s all over . Can’t wait to see it finished.. In the meantime.. hold onto your laptop ..TIGHT...Have a wonderful week.
