Well . . . it was just such a scenario on the day I discovered this little oil painting. It was face down in a pile of pictures. Some days I don't have the patience to dig through a bunch of stuff, but this day I was determined not to go home empty handed . In this instance I think persistence paid off.
And, voila . . . a very economical touch of Christmas in the powder room. And oh so satisfying to my thrifting addiction.
Kim,
ReplyDeleteI thought I was the only addict that did this! Just TODAY I went and on rare occasions I could not find a thing! After passing through twice I left...very dejected!
I think we were seperated at birth!
Great find Kim...I NEVER find anything at our Goodwill. I think it is just the area. I wish I had a nice antique store nearby...but none of those either...but my hubby would tell you...I am not hurting for "stuff".
ReplyDeleteI love your thrift store treasure and I'm so glad you decided to look just one more time! You have such a knack for grouping things together in an attractive way. Love the snow scenes. Have a very happy weekend! Twyla
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderfully festive thrifted Christmas finds! They are beautiful! Thank you for visiting my blog party today! You've got a wonderful blog, and I'll be back to visit again!
ReplyDeleteYep, I do that, too. We need a support group (or maybe we have one here!) That ice-skating picture is amazing, and I love that nativity scene in the bell jar. Something to look for the next time I thrift! Barbara
ReplyDeleteI love the oil painting as well as your other "thrifty" finds. I need to start shopping at thrift stores more often. Thank you for sharing them.

Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing at the thrift shop! Love your treasures.
Hugs,
Donna
I love the picture, and today I was at Salvation Army and did look through the pictures, always hoping for a find like this, or maybe a paint-by-numvber scene. You lucked out! Good job diggin'!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I wanted to say that I love the way the picture is so well matched to the little figurines you have placed near it. I have a thrift store story on my blog today too! You might like it.
