Enjoying The Spring Show

This was the kind of weekend that I find it almost impossible to stay inside for very long.  The weather continues to be delightful and it seems that each day there is something new blooming.

Something new saying "hey, get out here and take a look at me, because before long I will be done putting on my show until next Spring."

This weekend I spent lots of time enjoying the Spring show.  The dogwoods were in center stage.

The pansies are still performing well, but it won't be long until it will be time for their final curtain call.

New to the stage this season are these pots going up the steps on each side of the front porch.  You may remember when I planted them here

I pause at this point in the show to pay tribute to the pink tulip.  Planted during a time of grief, it has become the star of the show as it teaches that life will go on and can still hold beauty.

In the background we have the up and coming stars of the show ~ the azaleas.  And, after the show it's time for a refreshment.  In this case a cup of tea in the garden.  The adorable tea cup and tea pot were made by Donna from Mourning Dove Cottage.

~I hope you are enjoying the show in your area too.

  1. Kim, you just made me realize....I can't waste a day of Spring because the daffodils and tulips will soon be over! Thanks for reminding me to enjoy the present instead of looking to the future. A good lesson in more ways than one!
Hugs, and thanks for the pretty pictures!

  5. You have a way of making Spring come alive on this blog. Each of the photos are exquisitely beautiful! I especially liked the pink tulip and the memory it holds. The tea cup and teapot are so unique, and add a touch of class to the flower gardens.

I appreciate reminders of stopping to notice each of the shows that nature is providing this time of the year. You captured it all perfectly!

We are having lovely weather here...listening to the birds singing and the wind chimes so gently swaying in the breeze...such a soothing sound coming through our open windows. How true...we need to be so thankful for the wonderful Spring...before the next season is upon us. Time goes by so fast! Sweet and simple blessings for your week!

  10. I agree with Debbie's comment..... enjoy the present!

Spring time and flowers give me the biggest high! I neglect my inside work to enjoy and work in my flower beds.

Dogwood doesn't grow in this part of Texas; I love admiring yours. All of your flowers are so beautiful! The tea cup and tea pot is adorable!

Thank you for the birthday wishes!!!

  12. I can hardly drag myself in the house to do inside chores! Our azaleas are really starting the bloom cycle now. Our town had the annual Azalea Festival, but due to the colder weather, it was a bust because they weren't really blooming yet. The scents, the sound of the birds, all so enchanting outdoors!
