Christmastime Morning Ritual

Once I have the Christmas tree decorated it's time to start my favorite morning ritual of the year.
It's at this time of year that I like to get up a little earlier... before any of the other household creatures are stirring :).  As I tiptoe out of the bedroom, the first stop is the Christmas tree where I make a pit stop to turn on the lights.
From there I head to the kitchen to get the coffee going.

But, before I get the coffee started, it's time to plug in a new and oh-so-pretty Christmas light in the kitchen.  This one is sitting on the kitchen island and was a recent giveaway win from the oh-so-talented Judy at Just a Little Something For You.
This beautiful wreath warms up my kitchen first thing in the morning.

Judy took an already pretty Christmas wreath and added her own special touches of tiny white lights and glittery green and red stars and in the center she placed this adorable battery operated candle.
If you are a visitor to Judy's blog you will already be familiar with her many talents for assembling creative, beautiful and heartfelt gifts.

She even made the cardboard shipping box into a thing of beauty.
If you haven't visited Judy's blog yet, I hope you'll head on over.  You will be glad you did.

Thank you, Judy.

  2. Oh I'm going...mornings at your house look so lovely. I sometimes get the tree lit and sometimes, like this morning, I don't even make it near the tree. Lovely mug, too!

  3. Hi Kim,

What a sweet post! I love your Christmas mug and your Christmas tree -- so pretty. This is a lovely Christmas display that you won from Judy, and it looks perfect in that very spot in your kitchen. It really makes things look extra cozy.

I'll definitely have to visit Judy's blog now. Have a wonderful day here in North Carolina. :)

  4. What a gorgeous tree! It sparkles even if it's not lit up! Well...you know I'm going to ask...are there any pixies running loose in your house this year? I have mine out to enjoy and all kinds of vintage things. Happy Holidays my friend! Oh...love your pretty mug, too!

  6. Your Christmas tree is so pretty, Kim. I always go with the traditional red and green decor for Christmas, but I've always wanted to try a silver and white theme. It reminds me of a winter wonderland. I love your snowmen Header. I wish I could come and visit and have a cup of coffee together.

  7. Your tree is so pretty. And the wreath on your kitchen counter. What a lovely place for it.
No tree up here yet, but I plug in the lights around the creche, and in the ficus tree. So pretty.

  12. Early morning coffee, time to have to myself, pretty Christmas lights adding ambience...you make it sound so cozy and inviting. You seem to be able to add touches of beauty to whatever you share. That is why I leave here with a smile after each visit.

Thank you for your kind comments about the wreath. It does look so nice on your counter. Thankfully you appreciate the "slightly used" things of life, too:) I was happy that you won.
