Stitching Progress

Just popping in for a minute today as I'm busy being entertained by my favorite little man.  He is giving new meaning to that age old expression putting your foot in your mouth.
Oh how I'd love to be that flexible :  D

The main reason I'm doing a post today is to show my cross stitch progress since last week.  I got the red stitching finished up the left side and had full intentions to have the entire left side finished.  Didn't happen :(.

I also decided to give the angel her halo.
Took a lot longer than it looks like it should have.
That gold metallic floss is a real challenge to thread through the needle with these old eyes.  This piece has a lot of backstitching to be done in gold metallic.  Oy!  We may be looking at 2016 before this is done.  Ho Ho!!

Jaxson has just told me this is a boring post.
If you don't believe me you can hear for yourself:

I have to admit he's right...
this is a boring post, but I'm trying to hold myself accountable on the cross stitch front.  Not exactly riveting content for the rest of you.

Perhaps a pair of big blue eyes are what's needed to liven things up around here today
:-)

What's happening in your neck of the woods on this November Saturday?

  1. Sewing with metallic thread is a real trial. It looks wonderful and you'll soon be done.

  2. Hi Kim! He's so cute! I love his gurgles! I like your cross-stitch progress posts. I have been thinking about cross stitching again, so it might happen. The old eyes part is a concern! Have a great weekend!

  3. Slow and steady will win that "race." I have never worked with metallic thread other than to use it to hang ornaments by. I'll remember not to use it.

What a cute little blue-eyed grand keeping you company and offering advice!

Cross stitching is so time consuming. I always think I'm going to get so much more done than I actually accomplish!!!
You should see all the back stitching I have to do on my project!!! I bet you get done with your project before I do!!! : )

  14. I found out I have the beginnings of cataracts--30%-- so sadly anything requiring close work is harder these days. I will probably have them removed next year and maybe I'll be able to atempt cross stich again :)

Jaxson is adorable--isn't it fun to be a grandma?

  15. I agree. Those blue eyes would liven anyone up. I like your post. There are a pair of those approx 3 1/2 hours away from here that I intend to visit this weekend.

  16. Those blue eyes stole my heart this evening. As for the cross stitching, I would be so proud if I had completed three stitches:) You are doing a good job and I am not bored with any visit here.
