In This First Week of Spring

In this first week of spring our weather hasn't decided if it's ready to warm up.  There have been many nights of covering the blueberry and hydrangea plants as the temperatures dipped into the 20s.  Despite our best efforts, there was still some frost damage here and there.  On the bright side, it has made for a long stretch of daffodils unfolding.  There are still new ones coming out which delights me.

The chilly days provided me with the ideal excuse to stay inside and decorate the house for Easter.

Once that was done a pretty springtime puzzle beckoned.

Soon my tulips will be in full bloom along with the grape hyacinths.
The next several days are forecast to be in the upper 70s.  That ought to convince the weather that spring has most definitely sprung!!

I do hope that spring is off to a good start for you.

  1. I like your Easter displays.
Our flowers are blooming more convincingly now. The hyacinths have a lovely scent and I bring indoors the ones that get knocked off by charging dogs. It's amazing anything survives in our garden.

  2. Lovely Spring and Easter vignettes around your home Kim - love the Little Lamb book cover. Still narcissi blooming here and now the azaleas are starting despite those really chilly nights earlier this week. I covered hydrangeas too but still had a little damage.
Hope Easter will be pretty in your area - Mary

  3. Your spring decorations are all so cute.
We've had some nice warmish sunny days, and cold wintery days. Spring not quite here yet. Love the puzzle.

  4. No, but that is the way of things up here. I really like your puzzle. The little girl content with her dandelions and the lady selecting more lofty flowers. Your daffs are sweet and it is good that they have had an extended time to grow. Be sure to take photos of the tulips.

  5. Your shelves with the Easter decor are very attractive, and not too busy. Days here have varied with warmer ones earlier this week and now chilly ones are forecast, with a bit of rain. Such a pretty cluster of grape hyacinths.

  6. Your home is so lovely all decorated for Easter/Spring., The Daffodils and Grape Hyacinths are looking great. Fortunately they are not affected by your cold nights. Daytime temps in the 70's should bring even more flowers out. We're not about to have it that warm but I'll settle for sunshine!!
