~ Happy Spring ~
My visions of spending part of the week assembling a fun post for the first day of Spring changed when~
- A hot water tank broke sending water through the bedroom ceiling ~ while hubby is on a business trip ~ and naturally occurs on a Sunday.
- Several days were taken up having various companies give estimates to replace water heater and repair damage to ceiling.
- All day yesterday having
manywhat seemed like a small army of workmen tromping up and down and in an out to fix the problems as a small dog yapped and yapped. - All day today cleaning up messes from yesterday's activity.
Although the post isn't as I wanted it, the thoughts are the same ~ Happy, Happy first day of Spring to all of you.
Kim... :) we all have lives...and ..um..stuff happens. It just does. At least you have a great excuse. I have none. Ever!
ReplyDeleteDo something good for yourself...don't stress. It catches up with you when you get old...believe me..I know!
Hugs ...
Mona
I feel for ya! We always just say that's part of home ownership.
ReplyDeleteOh Kim, I'm so sorry you've had to go through this awful ordeal.
ReplyDeleteI too, have wondered why in the world anyone would put water pipes up above........because....stuff happens.
So glad you weren't away for several days. Goodness, that would have been more disastrous than what you've already experienced..
Happy first day of spring....anyway!
Hugs,
Oh, Kim, that really stinks. My water heater is in the basement where it belongs. I know that spring is going to get a lot better for you!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that you had to deal with all that. Never a dull minute when you own a house, is there? Hopefully this week will go smoother. Love & blessings from NC!
ReplyDeleteYikes! I'm so sorry for you--and to have to deal with all by yourself.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of one in the attic before. I guess they had their reasons.
Good thing you were home. I hope you can enjoy some Springtime now.
So sorry to hear about the hot water heater but you are sooo lucky you were home. I've heard of others who weren't and came home to a flooded room. Ugh! Glad to hear that it is taken care of. Your salt dough creations in the previous post are so sweet! Many blessings, Tammy
ReplyDeleteOh no, not a pleasant way to spend the first day of spring. Well at least you were home when it happened.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to report that our water heater is down on the lower level right next to the garage!!
Well, at least your one photo looks springlike and cheery! I have never, ever heard of a hot water tank in the attic - that seems like a terrible idea. (Did I miss a blog makeover? It looks just wonderful.)
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteOh that is the pits. Yup things like this always seems to happen, on weekends or at night. It is a good thing you were home.Like everyone has said, the damage would have been much worse. That does not take into account the mess you had to deal with. I agree with Mona, now do something nice for yourself. My excuse for not posting a Spring pic, was because I was outside enjoying it!
Hugs,
Lynn
I'm sorry you've had a rough weekend! I know how that water going everywhere goes. Been there! But I don't have that in my attic. It's in my hall. Anyway, the week shall get better.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
That is not fun...so sorry this happened. However, it was a good thing somebody was home.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim ~ I have been browsing your blog for awhile...but my first time to comment! I have enjoyed all that you share! So sorry about the mishap with the hot water tank...especially when your husband is out of town...that is the way it always happens it seems. Happy Spring to you and Sweet Blessings for your week! ♥Hugs♥
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Kim...my giveaway would go perfectly in your kitchen right now...gotta come and see!
ReplyDeleteHi There.. I just want to tell you that I think your kitchen is lovely. I think we have similar taste in colors! Sorry about your hot water heater and the mess that followed. I have never heard of a hot water heater in an attic before. Our HWH's are always in basements around this neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteNot fun! We've had the hot water go on the fritz...but never upstairs.
ReplyDeleteMay spring have many good things in store for you!
HI Kim,
ReplyDeleteMy goodness! It seems as if everything does go wrong when the hubby is gone doesn't it. I know what you mean, my husband travel a lot and it never fails I will need him for something and I have to wait until he gets back.
Your flowers are pretty, I hope they cheered up the day of broken hot water tanks.
Take care and have a good week,
Hugs, Elizabeth
