~ Counting Down ~

As the countdown to spring begins continues . . .

I don't know about you, but I'm ready for a picnic on the patio after playing in the dirt while breathing in the sweet smell of Spring.

I'm also ready to cut the first daffodil bouquet of 2010, see a nest full of birdie eggs, snip some chives and go on a local garden walk.  Which, by the way, is where these beautiful photos came from.  A garden walk in Salisbury, NC a couple of years ago.  Do you ever go on garden walks in your area?  I love to take in the beauty of other people's gardens and get inspiration for new things to try in my own garden.

Only 16 days to go (but who's counting)?

May happiness and joy find you this weekend.

  1. It was wonderful to plant flowers. I went out this morning and it just makes me smile. I won't get to enjoy them long as they will be fried by June...but until then, I am enjoying!!

  2. Me ~I am counting. We still have snow on the ground but today got warm enough to wash down the sidewalks and my car. It felt wonderful. We are having the great melt down the nest few days in Missouri~woo hoo!

  3. Oh those pictures are delightful and make me wish for spring even more. This weekend we are supposed to have sunny days with temperatures in the mid 50's. :-)
No, I've never been on a garden walk but it sounds like a great idea. I'll have to look into that in my area.

  4. Wow...cut flowers in March...I can only dream! You southern girls have all the flower cutting fun!

Your yard is so inviting...I would just live out there...

I did sit for an hour on our front porch this wind, 35 degrees, but the sun was just beating down...felt like 70.
    It was grand.
Thanks for stopping by always leave me smiling,

    xoxo~Kathy @ Sweet Up-North Mornings...

  5. I don't live far from Salisbury. Small world, isn't it? I am so ready for spring. Love & blessings from NC!

  6. Who's counting? I am. This has been a long cold snap here.
Can't wait for it to be warmer. I love my sandals. lol
    Your pics are very pretty.

  7. Very nice photos. I once went on a historic home tour in a neighboring town and really enjoyed it. Gardens would really be nice. Guess I'll be cleaning mine out pretty soon, as the temps here near 50! The snow is almost all gone!

  8. I am counting with you my friend. My wish today...that I could sit at one of those round tables on the picture and have lunch with you today. I do enjoy any time spent in gardens and what beautiful gardens you shared.

Wishing you a special weekend. It seems to me that they come so fast.

  9. I think there are quite a few of us counting down the days. What a pretty and inviting garden!

  10. Kim everytyhing is so beautiful!
What gorgeous and cheerful photos. I am definitely ready for Spring too!

    ~Blessings, ~Melissa :)

  11. You have a very nice setting for doing all the things that spring affords. That soon? Really? Hmmm, no wonder it feels a bit like spring.

  12. I love to stroll through other folks' gardens and peek at their patios and how they have things arranged and such. It's where I also get a lot of ideas!

  13. Yes, I love taking garden walks and getting new ideas! Your spring garden photos are wonderful. Hurry up spring!

  14. I am so ready for SPRING.....Love your blog

  15. What a beautiful walk that was! Thanks for taking us along. Many blessings, Tammy

  16. I am joining the crowd in the countdown! The crocuses in my front yard have now spread into the lawn and they sure look great!

    What pretty pics!

  17. I am so ready for spring! Our weather in southwestern PA has gotten warmer, but with almost three feet of snow on the ground, it's going to take awhile to melt.

  18. Hi Kim, Yes, yes, I am so counting the days, when I can dig, and plant.
This is such a refreshing post, and I enjoyed all of your photos. I too like to walk in other gardens and get new ideas.I go to my own gardens often waiting for my daffodils to bloom, so to cut a bouquet.
Thank you for sharing, and thank you for visiting and for leaving me such a sweet comment.
    Hugs and blessings,

  19. What beautiful photos! I've gone to a local conservatory, but never on a garden walk (yet, that is...your photos make me want to put that on my list of things to do this year!) Like you, I'm counting down! I check on my little tulips and daffodils every evening when I come home. They're only about 2" tall so far. I planted all new bulbs last year, so I'm hoping to have many for cutting! = ) It has been a long winter but spring will be here before we know it.

  20. I am right there with you! It's so beautiful here today. Just went outside though and "the wind is sweeping down the plain". That's Oklahoma for you. :)

  21. I somehow missed this post. I love your patio area and yard, it looks so pretty and inviting.
