It's MONDAY . . . you know what that means

~ LAUNDRY DAY ~

Remember how the homemakers from days gone by had a different chore for every day of the week? I don't know about you, but I usually do my laundry whenever it fits into my schedule. Although I do remember starting it on Monday mornings when my boys were babies. I took such delight in getting their little clothes on the clothesline first thing in the morning and then bringing them in later and smelling that wonderful fresh air scent that you can only get from the gentle breeze and a kiss of sunshine.

My how times have changed. Now I live in a neighborhood that doesn't allow clotheslines and my babies are all grown up. In fact they just came home from college for the summer and brought with them mountains of laundry.

I have a feeling that this may come in handy today. Hmm . . . I wonder why I don't look as fresh as a daisy like this homemaker. It must be because it is so HOT in North Carolina right now. Yes, that must be it!!

Well, a sweet little birdie just told me I should quit blogging and get that washer humming. So, until next time. . . stay cool and enjoy your day.

One more thought before I go . . . I find a fragrant candle burning softly in the corner of my laundry room makes the job much more pleasant. This one is triple scented ** Fresh Linen**Elegant Silk**Soft Cotton** Mmmm, almost as good as the clothesline.

Enjoy your day,
Kim

  1. Hi Kim
Welcome to blogland. You are going to find that it is a wonderful place filled with friendly creative generous people. There are quite a few of us from NC. You're going to have a ball. WARNING: BLOGGING CAN BE ADDICTIVE.
I'm doing laundry this morning too and I am about to go and pick a few hydrangeas before it gets too hot.
    Try to keep cool.

You can fix that big space in your blog. Go back to bogger dashboard and click on MANAGE POSTS then click EDIT for the post you want to fix. Check to make sure you didn't leave a big space at the end of it. That's the only reason I can think of why there would be such a big space there.

  3. Doing laundry is something I love. I also love ironing. So many find that odd. I hang many of my clothes to dry on a rack which hangs from our door and love walking past. It brings the fresh smells into the room and hall. I only did one load today and have two more to work on tomorrow along with my ironing. I am afraid I let my stitching get in the way today. :)
