My dryer has been "on the fritz" for a few weeks.
This morning at 8:00 on the dot the repairman came to fix it.
I've had this dryer for 17 years and this is the first problem I've had.
The repairman said this model rarely has issues and, if they do, it's an easy fix.
With that in mind, I'm thankful for appliances that are built to last.
I've heard so many stories of appliances failing after only a few years. With the investment we make in appliances, they should enjoy a long and productive life, wouldn't you say?
Yes, they should last my lifetime, not theirs! Ha!
ReplyDeleteSo was it an easy fix?
Ha Ha! Yes, wouldn't that be great. It turned out to be a small part that had to do with the ignitor. Once the part came in it was a quick fix.
DeleteExcellent!
DeleteOur first Maytags lasted and lasted. When we moved back from overseas, we bought new Maytags and they were done in 10 years. So disappointing. Yes, appliances should last! Glad yours is doing well.
ReplyDelete17 years is a long time. When my girls were little my husband and I bought a used Kenmore washer and dryer for one hundred dollars and used it for eleven years. I love that little washer and ironing board.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on appliances. My Maytag washer and dryer are on year 20 and I love them! They don't make them like that anymore that's for sure. I'm holding on to them as long as I can LOL

They don't make them like that anymore, so YAY! I'm glad it's fixed!
ReplyDeleteGood to have appliances that last!!
ReplyDeleteThough a dryer is one that I don't use. : )
Love your little washing machine, ironing board and iron.
Older appliances were made so well ~ new appliances nowadays don't last very long. We had a gas clothes dryer and water heater that both lasted about 23 years.
ReplyDeleteLooks like we all agree that the old appliances were/are better. What I dislike the most about my relatively new washer is that it has no agitator and does NOT get clothes clean. Seems agitators are not available or weren't when we got this washer.
